Thirty years ago, my husband Michael and I made the life-changing decision to move our family to the beautiful Outer Banks. Before that, we both had successful careers at Newport News Shipbuilding, where Michael—an Apprentice School graduate—became one of the youngest General Foremen in the Insulation Department. I had the honor of becoming the first woman promoted to Supervisor in the Machinery Installation Department.

Our journey brought us to the Outer Banks to pursue a dream in the family restaurant business, but real estate had always been my true passion. Once our daughters were grown, I seized the opportunity to finally follow that dream. Michael later joined me, earning his real estate license, and together we became The M&M Team.

For the past three decades, we’ve built a reputation as one of the top-producing real estate teams on the Outer Banks—proudly helping buyers and sellers navigate the market with confidence and care. Real estate is truly a family business: our daughter, Dawn, is now a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Seaside Realty, carrying on the tradition.
